Biography
Krista P. McDonald concentrates her practice on a wide range of labor and employment matters.
Krista has notable experience litigating and managing a variety of cases, including breach of non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, class-action defense, breach of contracts, and business torts.
Krista has litigated in arbitrations and both federal and state courts across the country and represented clients during all stages, including critical motions practice, discovery, depositions, drafting substantive briefs, pre-trial matters, and witness examinations. Krista has also represented corporate and individual clients in white-collar criminal investigations.
Krista has defended employers in litigation under the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Family Medical Leave Act, and other employment laws, including discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, and breach of contract claims.
Krista also has experience advising companies on labor and employment aspects in M&A transactions, drafting employment contracts, and compliance.
She maintains an active pro bono practice and has argued in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit on behalf of a pro bono client appealing his sentence in a wire and mail fraud case.
Prior to joining Blank Rome, Krista served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael B. Brennan for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and was a senior associate at another international law firm based in Chicago.
During law school, Krista was the managing senior editor of the Notre Dame Law Review and was an oralist for the Moot Court Appellate Board, competing in the ABA’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition. Krista has published articles and essays in the Notre Dame Law Review, Notre Dame Law Review Online, Michigan Law Review First Impressions, Gonzaga Law Review, and Catholic University Law Review. Krista was a teaching assistant and coach for Notre Dame’s Mock Trial Program, and she returns to Notre Dame Law School to teach Intensive Trial Advocacy as visiting faculty.
